Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

What is the ALCOLOCK WR3 ™?

It's a specific alcohol ignition interlock device. A vehicle with an interlock ignition device installed cannot be driven without the driver passing a breath alcohol test via an analyzer. Interlock ignitions are increasingly effective in reducing drunk driving accidents and deaths.

How does the Alcolock System work?

When the ignition key is turned voice prompts prepare the driving to give a breath test. The driver has a little over 60 seconds to give a sample providing their unit a sample of alveolar air from the bottom of the lungs. Testing the sample takes up to 6 seconds. After completing the test, the WR3 voice determines the driver's next steps.

What about incorrect test results as in false positives or false negatives?

To date, there have been no reported problems with false negative results.
